Mass Audubon Northshore Conference 2022

The 6th and 8th grade students of The Saints Academy were the featured speakers at the Mass Audubon Northshore Conference on November 18th.  Their investigation centered around the underlying factors contributing to marsh fragmentation and dieback.  An analysis of nitrogen and salinity data obtained from the ground water at five locations at Conomo Point, Essex was presented. They drew a correlation between higher levels of nitrogen to the GPS maps they made of areas under stress. This unique Saints Academy program is part of the 6th grade environmental studies and the 8th grade chemistry curriculum.
