Students Present their Data at the Annual Mass Audubon Conference

MA Audubon 27th Annual Coastal Science Conference

This marks the ninth year, the 6th and 8th grade students of The Saints Academy have collected plant and water data at the marsh located at Conomo Point, Essex. Students presented their data at the Annual Mass Audubon Conference held at The Governors Academy. The 6th grade continues to track the changes in vegetation along five areas of the marsh. The 8th grade students returned to continue the investigation on a deeper level. They collected, processed, and analyzed water samples focusing on the levels of nitrate and nitrite in the water. The Saints Academy’s research centered around the question: Is climate change affecting the salt marsh? This unique Saints Academy program is part of the 6th grade environmental studies and the 8th grade chemistry curriculum. We are so proud of the work you have done! Thank you to Mrs. Pomeroy, who continues to provide our students with the opportunity to work on such important environmental issues!

Middle School Students Raise Money for St. Jude's
The Saints Academy

Our 6th & 7th grade students did a wonderful job fundraising for St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Thank you to all of our families for supporting their efforts. They raised $1,750. for this great cause! Students held a bake sale, they sold bracelets, stickers, key chains, and stress balls (all of these items were made by students). They also held a raffle to win a basketball game that one group created. Excellent work!
